We are amazed by the perseverance of our club members, even in these challenging times we are finding ways to safely make a difference in our community.
This year the situation is unprecedented, while the restrictions that the virus has imposed on our food shopping routines may be challenging each of us in different ways, there are families all around who may not eat today or tomorrow and helping the needy is, even more, a prime responsibility upon us keeping in mind there is absolutely no livelihood and income due to the lockdown.
It’s is Ramadan time again. Our Club further endeavors to serve the communities in need during this holy month and as happened in previous years we have received a request from our adopted School – Chennai Corporation Urdu Primary School in Dadashamakan. Pulianthope. Every year our club sponsors provision kits to the families of all the poor students in the school. Needless to say, these students & families are from the poorest and most vulnerable sections in society.
This year there are about 100 students in the school and the estimated cost of each provision kit is around Rs.550/-. Even though the school is closed the Headmistress reached out to the parents and distributed the kits.
