Our Story So Far ..
The Lions Club of Chennai Skyline is one of the pioneers in India of the Lions movement, devoted to the ideal of Fellowship through service. Located in the beautiful city of Chennai, the Lions Club of Chennai Skyline was inaugurated on 22-11-2000 and chartered on 08-01-2001 and continues to remain a strong, vital club for 20 years. The Club is one of about 170+ clubs in District 324-A1.
It all began 20 years ago with a belief that what really matters is not what we got but what we shared, It is not our success, but our usefulness to others. Two decades of services in the areas of Education, Healthcare, Disaster Relief, Environment, Hunger, Youth Development and community welfare.
The membership of the Club has grown from 20 in 2001 to around 75 today. The unique single classification concept of Lionism allows the Lions Club of Chennai Skyline a membership compromising a high performance cross-section of Chennai’s successful business and professional men and women, all accomplishers in their own field ranging from doctors to architects, legal luminaries to Jewellers, entrepreneurs to educationalists and merchandisers to communicators. The Club offers a stimulating fellowship based on a fascinating diversity of interests in business, arts, sciences and the professional expertise of its members.
The Lions Club of Chennai Skyline has a long history and impressive legacy, but today we do not claim credit for past accomplishments. Times change, needs change and we adapt how we help.
Our goal is to add to the long history and rich legacy by making a positive difference in our community, as well as, by helping each other through networking with friends.
We believe community improvement depends on the thriving of its members. We don’t simply provide Medicines, Shelter, Food or address the immediate need. We provide hope and a promise of brighter future with the ultimate goal of leading a life of dignity for community members.
The Club has supported hundreds of service activities, programmes & projects and helped thousands of people through its many community service projects and philanthropy in over 20 years of service, and looks forward to continuing to do the same for centuries to come.
The Club has been able to attempt a number of service programmes only because of unconditional, generous donations of time and money by the members. Over the years, this has only inspired a greater passion to meet the humanitarian needs and live by our motto “We Serve”. If the past 20 years have taught us anything, it’s that as we serve, we grow. And we were never meant to stop.

- Providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene – Building of rest rooms facilities in Schools.
- Supporting education – meeting infrastructural needs.
- Fighting diseases – regular medical camps, access to free health care.
- Equipping health centres – meeting diagnostic and infrastructural needs.
- Youth development – Youth as partners, and empowering Youth as service leaders.
- Hunger – We serve to improve human flourishing – access to nutritious foods to needy.
