International Day of the Girl Child is observed on October 11 to raise awareness about the importance and potential girls hold as the future of our society.
Today is a day for Lions Club of Chennai Skyline members to support and celebrate the girls of our world. Inclement weather didn’t deter the Eighteen Lady Lions and Lion Ladies to descend at Govt. Hobart Higher Secondary School for Girls, Royapettah, Chennai to commemorate International Day of the Girl Child.
Lions Club of Chennai Skyline distributed the following to the school children :
1) Prescription glasses for 70 students
2) Bournvita Lil Champs 500 gms Jar of energy drink to 25 students
3) Chocolates to 490 students and 50 teaching and non-teaching staff
We are thankful to our angel donor Lion Mohammed Asif for his thoughtful sponsorship of Chocolates.
We are also immensely grateful to Lion Prasad Hari Parulekar for his donation towards the other service activities.
The generosity of angel donors helps sustain community outreach initiatives and serve the community in myriad ways.
We are extremely thankful to all the 18 Lady Lion and Lion Ladies for their enthusiastic participation and sense of purpose in carrying out the service activities – by the Women for the Women.
