DONATE BLOOD, GIVE A SMILE TO SOMEONE

Blood scarcity is a common hindrance to the health system in our country and many lives could not be saved due to a shortage of blood units.

Lions Club of Chennai Skyline in association with National Service Scheme unit of The New College organized a successful Blood Donation Camp at the college campus.  The camp was inaugurated by Dr. A. Abdul Jabbar, Principal of the College accompanying him were NSS Co-ordinator Professor Suleiman and other faculties.

The camp received an overwhelming response from the students as ample number of students came pouring in to be a part of the good cause of donating blood. 

After a basic check up, the donors each donated 300 ml of blood to save someone’s life. The team of doctors and para-medical staff from Lions Blood Bank collected 113 units of blood. 

The camp also witnessed active participation from several Lion members of the club and some members even joined in to donate blood to inspire the participants. 

The camp was also attended by the Leaders from the Lions District 324 A1, Lion Raj Kumar, District Chairperson – Activities,  Lion Babu – District Chairperson – Activities, and Lion Jayaraman Arujunan – Region Chairperson attended the event.

The donors were given certificates, healthy snacks and juices.  Many students donated blood for the first time and several students expressed their resolve to donate blood for the needy.

It truly was a proud feeling after completing this blood donation camp as the blood collected eventually would bring a smile to someone.
