To the present day and despite all efforts of local and national authorities as well as the international community, many destitute faces challenges to access medical services in case of illness and disease. Dedicated to serving the community and addressing present challenges and needs, Lions Club of Chennai Skyline organized Medical Camp in the Club’s adopted area of Dadashamakan / Pulianthope to bring basic quality health services to people who would otherwise not have easy access to them.
The Free Medical Camp was conducted in association with Orthomed Hospital with a specialty focus on Diabetes awareness and Diabetes Screening.
A special team of Specialist Doctors, Consultants, Nurses and volunteers conducted free consultations and check-ups.
Total of 116 patients were registered, check-up was carried out on the visitors for Blood Pressure, Blood Glucose and 38 affected patients benefited from the medical advice. The camp also offered a special pharmacy set up for free prescription medicines and medicines were given free to all the patients.
Patients who could not be assisted on-site or that had severe illnesses were given an official referral to visit Orthomed Hospital for further treatment at a highly subsidized cost.
The event started at 09:00 a.m. and ended by 02:00 p.m.
