Our Club celebrated 73rd Independence Day on 15th August, 2019 along with students, teachers, parents and locals of Chennai Primary School, Giriappa Road, T- Nagar with a lot of excitement.
The Headmistress of the school welcomed the gathering and expressed happiness over the continued support and encouragement they have been receiving from our Club and prayed to receive the same patronage in the future too.
President, PMJF Lion Prasad Hari Parulekar took the honour and hoisted the tricolor flag with enthusiasm among students, teachers, and Lions. After the flag hoisting, National Anthem was sung, it was overwhelming to see the pride that children took in singing the National Anthem.
MJF Lion Muneer Khan in his speech shared his happiness on India’s 73rd Independence Day and motivated the children to scale new heights. He explained the children about the significance of hard work and efforts which often leads to good results.
MJF Lion Ghouse Babu in his speech expressed concern on the declining strength of students in the school. He explained about the upgraded quality of education in the Corporation run schools are on par with any private schools. He urged and requested the teachers, parents, and students to campaign for new enrolments into the school.
The children put up a spectacular program consisting of Speeches, talks about the significance of the Day, their dreams and aspirations for the future. There were patriotic songs presented with actions, dances, and plays. About 40 students participated and some came dressed in their traditional attire. In fact, one of them even chose to become Gandhiji!
Lions were actively and happily engaged in distributing prizes, gifts, sweets, and savories.
It will be a day to be remembered and cherished by the children for days to come.
The event started at 10:00 a.m. and ended by 11:30 a.m.
