The Medical camp was set up in an area of dire need, where the dwellers either don’t have the financial opportunity to see a doctor if they are sick or they wait for it until their condition has deteriorated significantly. With the continuous provision of free medical services, our Club aims to address this gap in our adopted area – Pulianthope / Dadashamakan.
Over 78 senior citizens from the Perambur Slaughter House catchment area braved rains and availed of the benefits from the ‘Free Medical Camp’ organised by Lions Club of Chennai Skyline in association with Orthomed Hospital, with a specialty focus on Orthopaedic.
As many as 116 patients registered and the free Check-up covered Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, Osteoporosis Screening BMD tests along with consultation by General Physician and Orthopaedic Specialists.
The camp also offered a special pharmacy set up for free prescription medicines and medicines were given free to all the patients as per the expert’s advice.
Patients who could not be assisted on-site or that had severe illnesses were given an official referral to visit Orthomed Hospitals for further treatment at a highly subsidized cost.
It was highly commendable to note the team of Specialist Doctors, Consultants, Nurses and volunteers were so eager to serve and for the smile, they put on the faces of the patients. The Camp was a huge success.
The event started at 09:00 a.m. and ended by 02:00 p.m.
