The Lions Club of Chennai Skyline, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell of Dhaanish Ahmed College of Engineering, Padappai, Chennai and the Lions Blood Bank, District 3241C, Chennai, successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp on the college campus. The event, held with the wholehearted participation of students and staff, reinforced the Club’s ongoing commitment to saving lives and fostering a culture of service among the youth.

The response to the camp was highly encouraging, with nearly 257 students and staff members volunteering for the noble cause. Out of these, 222 units of blood were successfully collected, making the event a significant contribution to the community. While 35 donors, mostly female students, were unable to donate due to lower body weight, insufficient hemoglobin levels, their willingness to step forward highlighted the strong spirit of service among the youth.

The occasion was graced by Past District Governor, Lion LKS Syed Ahamed, whose presence motivated both the volunteers and the organizers. Several members of the Lions Club of Chennai Skyline also actively participated, extending their support to ensure the smooth conduct of the drive.

Club President, Lion Seema Parulekar, expressed deep gratitude to the management and staff of Dhaanish Ahmed College of Engineering for their support and cooperation. In particular, she thanked Secretary, Shri Kader Shah for granting permission to organize the camp on the college premises and for the warm hospitality extended to the Lions Club members.

In her remarks, Lion Seema Parulekar shared her excitement at the overwhelming turnout from the students:

“I’m thrilled to see so many young students lining up for such an event. Their enthusiasm and commitment to this life-saving mission are truly inspiring, and it gives us great hope for the future of service in our community.”

The blood donation camp not only contributed vital units of blood to the Lions Blood Bank but also created an atmosphere of social responsibility among the students. The initiative stands as a reminder of the critical role educational institutions and service organizations can play when they come together for a common humanitarian cause.

The Lions Club of Chennai Skyline remains committed to promoting health, service, and compassion through such impactful initiatives, and the resounding success of this camp is yet another milestone in its service journey.
