Blood is the elixir of life. The need for safe blood is universal. One cannot make blood, it is a gift we all have inside of us to give to those who are injured, sick, or in need. There’s no doubt that the need is huge. An adequate supply of safe blood can only be assured through regular donations by voluntary unpaid blood donors.
However, donors’ support is helping us make it possible to help people achieve a healthier, happier and more fruitful life.
Jointly with the NSS Unit of Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women, Chennai and Egmore Lions Blood Bank, our Club organized a Blood Donation Camp at the college. A team of two doctors and ten staff of Egmore Lions Blood Bank came for blood collection.
The NSS Programme Officers, Professor Dr. S.M. Zubaidunisa, Professor Hidayath Unnissa Begum, Professor Dr. S.M. Sameena Banu and Professor Dr. S. Bhuvaneswari were present and made the necessary arrangements to conduct the camp.
During the Blood donation camp a total number of 121 donors across the different subject streams donated blood and showed that in the needy hour, we will come forward to donate blood.
Refreshments were given to all the donors as a token of gratitude.
Our Club complimented the selfless service of the young students and their love and concern towards society as blood donors and handed the certificate of appreciation to the donors.
