Our Club organized Children’s Day Celebration at our adopted School, – Government Hobart Higher Secondary School, Whites Road, Chennai.
The birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was celebrated with great pomp, enthusiasm and vigour, over 450 children from Std. 1 to Std. 12 celebrated together. There was excitement all around.
The programme started with Welcome Address by Mrs. Kanmani – Head Mistress, followed by Opening Remarks by PMJF Lion Prasad Hari Parulekar – President, Special Address by PMJF Lion L.K.S. Syed Ahamed, Past District Governor, Lions Clubs International, District 324-A1 and Mrs. Fathima Wadood, President – Parents Teachers Association.
Our Club honoured 21 Class Toppers Students in Quarterly Examinations from Std. 1 to Std. 12 and distributed prizes.
A quiz programme was conducted on General Knowledge questions and everyone enthusiastically participated, the children just loved the quiz and clapped away.
The quiz was followed by the gamut of fun-filled activities consisted of dance, poetry recitation and songs. The participating students were looking adorable in colourful clothes. Teachers of the School entertained students by performing songs and dances.
The Show Stopper was the child dressed up as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru with a red rose pinned to the collar of the Nehru Jacket.
Around 500 Cakes & Puff were distributed to the students, teaching and non-teaching staff in the school.
The Head Mistress and the Teachers thanked the Club Members for putting a smile on the children’s’ faces.
