Childrenβs Day is always a reminder of the innocence, curiosity, and boundless joy that define childhood. This year, the Lions Club of Chennai Skyline embraced that spirit wholeheartedly, creating a day filled with compassion, learning, and meaningful engagement across multiple communities in Chennai.
Our celebrations began at Government Hobart Higher Secondary School, Royapettah, where we shared sweets and gifts with 520 students. The smiles we witnessed were a beautiful reminder of why service matters.
A special appreciation to Project Chairperson Lion Ghouse Babu, whose meticulous planning ensured a smooth and heartwarming start to the day.
We then moved to Chennai Corporation Primary School, Giriappa Road, T-Nagar, where a lively sports meet brought out the energy of young studentsβand even the enthusiasm of our Lady Lions and Lion Ladies who joined in the fun. With 36 children participating, the event blended play, excitement, and team spirit. Snacks, gifts, and prizes added to the festive cheer, making it an unforgettable experience for the students and staff.
Our third initiative focused on Diabetes Awareness, once again at Giriappa School, reaching another 36 young minds and teachers. This session was particularly meaningful as it aimed at building early awareness around health, wellness, and preventive careβan investment in the future of our children.
The day concluded at Mithra, Anna Nagar East, a centre supporting children and young adults with intellectual and physical disabilities. Sharing snacks and spending time with 150 beneficiaries was a touching and humbling experience that highlighted the power of empathy and inclusion.
Across all four activities, the unwavering involvement of our members added incredible strength and spirit to the day.
